Forgive me, dear blog readers, for the scarcity of posts here lately. My family and I are still coming out of the blur of Cinderella, but I hope to begin picking up the pace now!
I’ve written a good deal about story here and the power it can wield. Over the last couple of months, I’ve had the privilege of joining a group of other Christian fiction writers who share a conviction of the power of story. Led by author Nikki Arana, we have formed a “Transformational Fiction” facebook page and seek to promote and provide space to discuss novels that not only entertain but also wrestle with complex issues while pointing to Jesus as the answer. Our genres and styles range widely, but whether dealing with alcoholism, racism, illegal immigration, human trafficking, the persecuted church, or less “heavy” issues, we all have been touched by story and hope the Lord may use the stories He gives us to touch and even change both our lives and those of others.
One member of the group, Jessie Gunderson, has put together an Amazon list of “Transformational Fiction” titles for the easy reference of readers and writers. While it is not exhaustive, I thought you might be interested in taking a look. Enjoy!
